ST. LOUIS, Mo. — All-American Jack Huffman placed 8th at the 2022 NCAA DII National Championships to close out his season. Huffman went 2-3 at the tournament and was the highest finisher for Viking Wrestling.
Huffman finished the season with an overall record of 20-4. At the Super Region V tournament, Huffman defeated four opponents to qualify for the national championships and win the 133-pound bracket.
On the first day of the national championships, Huffman defeated Newberry’s Timothy Luker in his first match of the day by way of a 4-1 decision. In his second match, he was defeated by Majid Corbett of Limestone. Huffman became a 2022 DII All-American when he bested Eric Bartos of Mercyhurst by way of a 7-3 decision. This is Huffman’s first time earning All-America honors.
In Huffman’s first match of Day 2 at the tournament, he was defeated by Nebraska-Kearney’s Wesley Dawkins to find a spot in the seventh-place match. Huffman was defeated by Devin Flannery of Millersville to finish in eighth place.
