Big Ten Title History
The Golden Gophers are seeking the program’s 13th Big Ten title, which would match Indiana for third-most in conference history. Iowa has won 37 championships, followed by Illinois with 17. Minnesota ranks third with 95 individual titles, behind Iowa (207) and Michigan (125).

The Golden Gophers broke a 40-year title drought with its 1999 championship. Minnesota added titles in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2006, and 2007.

Last Gopher B1G Champion By Weight
125 – Jayson Ness (2007)
133 – Chris Dardanes (2015)
141 – Mike Thorn (2010)
149 – Dylan Ness (2013)
157 – C.P. Schlatter (2007)

Glory for Gable
Senior heavyweight Gable Steveson looks to reach rarified air this weekend at the Big Ten Championships as he tries to become just the eighth Gopher in program history to win at least three conference titles, becoming the first to accomplish the feat since Tony Nelson won his third Big Ten title in 2014. Steveson is a perfect 10-0 on the season with a 100% bonus rate.

First Time for Everything
Heavy turnover in the Gopher lineup means that six Minnesota wrestlers – Jake Gliva, Jake Bergeland, Sebas Swiggum, Cael Carlson, Isaiah Salazar, and Michial Foy – will be competing in the conference tournament for the first time. That mark is the most championship debuts for the Maroon and Gold since 2016.
