Kasson-Mantorville’s Bennett Berge Named 2022 Mr. MN Wrestler

The Minnesota Wrestling Coaches Association annually presents the Mr. Minnesota High School Wrestler award to the senior that best exemplifies the highest ideals of high school wrestling in Minnesota. Judging is based on past performances, citizenship, academics, leadership, and adherence to MSHSL rules. This year the committee is proud to recognize Kasson-Mantorville’s five-time state champion, Bennett Berge.

Berge capped off his senior season with a record of 52-0 and his fifth straight state title. Berge won titles at 138 pounds,160 pounds,170 pounds,182 pounds, and 195 pounds The Komet went an impressive 124-1 over his final three seasons of high school wrestling and earned 241 wins for his career. By earning this honor along with his brother Brady (2017), the Berge’s become the third set of brothers to earn this award. They join Eric and Zach Sanders and Mike and Tommy Thorn.

Berge is also a National Honor Society member, Link Crew Leader, and member of the MWCA Academic All-State Team. He will be taking his wrestling talents to South Dakota State University in the fall.
