Seven St. Cloud State Wrestlers earn seeds in NCAA Championships

Bianchini and Herrera are first in their respective weight classes

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Ahead of next week’s NCAA Wrestling Championships, St. Cloud State Wrestling had all seven qualifiers ranked as the brackets were revealed by the NCAA on Friday. Redshirt junior 141-pounder Joseph Bianchini (Elk Grove Village, Ill.) and redshirt sophomore 157-pounder Anthony Herrera (Stansbury Park, Utah) earned No. 1 seeds in their respective weight classes, while all seven wrestlers earned top-seven seeds.

Redshirt senior 197-pounder Noah Ryan (Mantorville, Minn.) earned a No. 2 seed while sophomore 125-pounder Paxton Creese (Shakopee, Minn.) earned a No. 3 seed. Returning NCAA Champion redshirt senior heavyweight Kameron Teacher (Columbus, Ohio) will begin his title defense as the No. 4 seed, while redshirt senior 133-pounder Garrett Vos (Bonifacious, Minn.) and freshman 149-pounder Nicholas Novak (New Prague, Minn.) each earned the No. 7 seed in their respective weight classes.
