Minnesota wrestlers Jacob Graber and TJ Richardson win Kids Triple Crown; Liam Collins is a double champion
FARMINGTON, Utah — After the final whistle on Tuesday, 13 wrestlers emerged from the mats with USA Wrestling Triple Crowns after the freestyle competition at the Kids Nationals on Tuesday.
Of those 13, only one — Aaron Stewart of Illinois (14U, 149 lbs.) repeated from last year. He teched his way through the bracket and ended with a 14-3 whooping over Maryland’s Victor MarksJenkins in the finals round.
Stewart is now a three-time Kids Triple Crown winner. He won a 14U Triple Crown in 2021, competing at 114 pounds. He was also a 2018 Triple Crown winner at the 10U level, competing at 77 pounds.
An athlete wins the Triple Crown if he claims USA Wrestling national titles in folkstyle, Greco-Roman and freestyle in the same year. Athletes in the 10U, 12U and 14U divisions were eligible this week for the Triple Crown. Continue reading at teamusa.org →
