MANHEIM, Pa. — Minnesota State University Moorhead head wrestling coach Kris Nelson was a finalist for the Bob Bubb Coaching Excellence Award that was announced by the National Wrestling Coaches Association on Tuesday.
Nelson was the finalist from Super Region 5. Jason Ramstetter of Adams State received the award.
Nelson will be in his 14th season as the Dragon head coach in 2022-23. As Dragon head coach he has coached one NCAA finalist, six All-Americans, 20 NCAA qualifiers, and numerous NSIC and NWCA All-Academic honorees.
The Bob Bubb Coaching Excellence Award is presented annually to an outstanding coach who epitomizes the qualities and characteristics of a role model and a mentor for developing young student-athletes.
