St. Cloud State unveils 2022-23 schedule

Huskies to wrestle four 2021-22 Top-25 opponents as part of NCAA Super Region V Title Defense

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Six-time defending Super Region V Champion St. Cloud State Wrestling has announced their 2022-23 schedule. The Huskies will wrestle four home duals, three of which feature opponents ranked in last season’s final NWCA Top-25 poll.

“I am excited for another year of Huskies Wrestling,” said head coach Steve Costanzo, “I hope that we can move forward with some normalcy post-COVID. Our guys deserve to compete without any more of these distractions – we will be ready!”

SCSU opens their 2022-23 season with the traditional Black and Red Classic at Halenbeck Hall on October 27. The Huskies will then wrestle at a pair of opens in November with the Yellowjacket Open on the 5th and the Dakota Wesleyan Open on the 12th.

On December 4, St. Cloud State travels to the Chadron State Duals where they will battle Western Colorado, site host Chadron State, and San Francisco State.

The Huskies hunt for their seventh NWCA National Duals title on January 6-7 in Louisville, Kentucky before opening NSIC action with three straight home matches. SCSU hosts UW-Parkside on January 12, Augustana on January 15, and Minnesota-State Mankato on January 21. Northern Sun competition continues January 27-28 with road duals at MSU-Moorhead and Northern State, then the Huskies begin February at Upper Iowa on the 2nd.

St. Cloud State travels to Mary and Minot State on February 10-11 before closing out the regular season at home against SMSU on February 16.

The 2023 NCAA Super Region V Championships will be held in Aberdeen, South Dakota on February 25, while the 2023 NCAA Championships are set for March 10-11 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
