The Dragon Open will be the final tournament for MSUM before entering their NSIC dual schedule. MSUM is scheduled to open their conference slate in a road dual with Augustana on December 9.

The Dragons are 1-1 in duals this season after falling to Concordia College at home two weeks ago. In that dual, MSUM was led by senior Anthony Castro, who secured his second major decision of the season at 174 pounds. Clayson Mele picked up a forfeit victory in the dual for the Dragons. MSUM has also competed at two open tournaments so far this season.

Mele sits at an 8-3 record this season, which leads the team in total victories. Freshman Caleb Vacura leads the Dragons with four pinfalls this season at 184 pounds. Castro leads MSUM with his two major decisions, while both Thomas Carrillo and Wayne Mellon have a technical fall in unattached competition.

Kris Nelson is in his 14th season as head coach of the Dragons.
