LOUISVILLE, Ky.–Augustana wrestling fell to No. 1 Central Oklahoma and No. 14 Gannon on Friday at the NWCA National Duals. The Vikings fall to 4-5 on the season.
No. 1 Central Oklahoma 22, Augustana 12
The Vikings saw wins in four out of 10 weight classes in the first dual of the NWCA National Duals. Jaxson Rohman started the day with a victory for Augustana, capturing the win via 5-3 decision at 125 pounds.
At 165 pounds, Tyler Wagener defeated No. 4 Ty Lucas of Central Oklahoma by way of 3-2 decision. Wagener used a takedown and a point for riding time to earn the victory.
Kolby Kost, competing at 174 pounds, was triumphant over Anthony Des Vigne of UCO. Kost totaled three takedowns, two escapes and earned two penalty points in the 10-4 decision victory. Des Vigne is nationally ranked at No. 4 at 184 pounds.
Two escapes, one takedown and one penalty point lifted Cade Mueller over his UCO opponent. Mueller claimed the fourth Viking victory of the dual with a 5-0 decision victory over the Bronchos’ Alex Kauffman.

Augustana fell to No. 14 Gannon in the second dual of the day. Four Vikings were victorious in their matches. Rohman saw his second victory of the day with a 9-2 decision win over his Gannon opponent. He tallied four takedowns and one escape in the win.
John Babineau collected the second win of the dual. Babineau recorded a takedown in the overtime period to ride to a 3-2 sudden victory.
At 174 pounds, Kost was victorious in his second match of the day against Gannon’s Joseph Petrella. A takedown in the overtime period helped Kost to a 9-7 SV win.
Cade Mueller totaled a reversal and a point for riding time in a 3-1 decision win against his GU opponent at 184 pounds.
