Johnnies Compete at Elmhurst

ELMHURST, Ill. – Ten Johnnies wrestled at Elmhurst’s large Al Hanke Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 14.

The tournament consisted of 18 teams and 258 wrestlers. Six of the 10 Johnnies won a match on the day. Sophomore Logan Thorsten (157; Foley, Minn.), sophomore Noah Whitfield-Lopez (165; Wheatland, Wyo.) and junior Ben Gilbertson (184; Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice) all won their first bouts, but fell in round two.

The Johnnies return home to host their annual North Country Open at 10 a.m. next Sunday, Jan. 22, in Sexton Arena.
