BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Augustana athletics is the NSIC’s leader with 80 student-athletes, including nine wrestlers, named to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference All-Academic honors for the winter sports season. Announced three times a year, Augustana has maintained its spot atop the conference in both academic and athletic prowess. The 2022-23 total when combined with fall sports, brings AU’s tally to 177 student-athletes.
“Our winter sport student-athletes continue to carry the tradition of excelling in the classroom and performing strong in competition,” Augustana Director of Athletics Josh Morton said. “Their success in all their facets of their life at Augustana is part of the experience on our campus.”
To be eligible for the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence, a student-athlete must have a 3.60 cumulative GPA or higher, while NSIC All-Academic Team members must have a 3.20 cumulative GPA or higher.
Additionally, the student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at her/his institution (true freshmen, red-shirt freshmen, and ineligible athletic transfers are not eligible), and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.
