St. Cloud State places eight wrestlers on NSIC Winter All-Academic List

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – St. Cloud State Athletics saw 45 student-athletes earn 2022-23 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Winter All-Academic recognition as announced by the league on Thursday. 30 Huskies earned Team of Excellence recognition, while 15 were named to the All-Academic Team.

Women’s Swim & Dive led the way with 16 recipients, followed by Track & Field’s 11, Wrestling’s eight, Women’s Basketball’s six, and Men’s Basketball’s four.

To be eligible for the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence, a student-athlete must have a 3.60 cumulative GPA or higher, while NSIC All-Academic Team members must have a 3.20 cumulative GPA or higher. 54.9% of all eligible Huskies student-athletes earned All-Academic honors this winter, led by Women’s Basketball’s 75%.

Additionally, the student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at her institution (true freshmen, red-shirt freshmen, and ineligible athletic transfers are not eligible), and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.
