College Recruiting: three-time state placewinner Wong to University of Minnesota

Kyler Wong of Wayzata has committed to wrestling for the University of Minnesota next season.

Wong is a four-time state qualifier and three-time placer. He was the Class AAA 145-pound third-place finisher in 2022 as a junior. As a freshman, Wong placed fourth at 126 pounds, and as an eighth-grader, he was fifth at 113 pounds. He did not compete in the post-season as a senior due to injury.

Wong is projected to wrestle at 157 or 165 pounds for the Golden Gophers.
