Bianchini earns Academic All-American honors

Three-time All-American and four-time Region Champion closes career as an Academic All-American

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State redshirt senior Joey Bianchini has earned Third Team Academic All-American honors as announced by the College Sports Communicators on Wednesday. Bianchini becomes the Huskies’ 10th Academic All-American and the eighth under head coach Steve Costanzo.

A five-time NWCA All-Academic honoree, Joey Bianchini closed his collegiate career this spring as a four-time Region Champion and a three-time NCAA All-American while going 87-6 with a 35-2 career dual record.

SCSU wrestlers have earned Academic All-American honors in five straight seasons as Bianchini joins Garrett Vos (2021), Brett Velasquez (2017-19), Kolton Eischens (2019-20), Ben McPhail (2015), Jacob Kahnke (2013), Ryan Marx (1999) and Andy Reigstad (1997) as a recipient.
