College Recruiting: Morvari flips commitment to Minnesota

Two-time state champion Brandon Morvari of Simley has switched his commitment from the University of Illinois to the University of Minnesota for next season.

Morvari announced his decision on Instagram.

Morvari is a three-time state placewinner and two-time champion. He won the Class AA 120-pound title in 2023 as a senior, the 113-pound title in 2022 as a junior, and he placed third at 106 pounds as a sophomore.

He was a USA Wrestling Junior Freestyle All-American in 2022, placing sixth. He was a double Fargo Junior All-American in 2021, placing second in freestyle and fifth in Greco-Roman.

Morvari is projected to wrestle at 125 pounds for the Golden Gophers.
