College Recruiting: Wells flips commitment to Minnesota

Four-time state champion Tyler Wells of Princeton has switched his commitment from St. Cloud State to the University of Minnesota for next season.

Wells announced his decision on Instagram.

Wells won the Class AA 132-pound title this season. He won the 132-pound title in 2022 as a junior, the 113-pound title as a sophomore, and the 106-pound title as a freshman.

Wells was a USA Wrestling 16U Freestyle All-American in 2021 placing third. In 2019 he was a U15 UWW World Champion.

He finished his high school career with a record of 164-1.

Wells is projected to wrestle at 141 pounds for the Gophers.
