SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The University of Sioux Falls head men’s wrestling coach Matt Meuleners has announced the addition of 24 student-athletes that will join the Cougar Wrestling program this upcoming fall.
This year’s recruiting class will feature 24 student-athletes from nine states including Arizona (1), California (1), Iowa (3), Idaho (1), Minnesota (6), Nebraska (6), Oregon (1), South Dakota (4) and Wyoming (1).
Recruits from Minnesota include Lane Fink, Lincoln Fink, Ashtin Johnson, Mitch Koss, Timothy Lacina, and Jroc Solheim.
Canby, Minn./ Canby HS
Background: Lincoln joins the Cougars from Canby, Minnesota where he attended Canby High School. He competed in wrestling, football and golf for the Lancers. In wrestling, he was a two-time state qualifier and a state placer. The son of Perry and Catherine Fink, Lincoln intends to major in Accounting at USF.

Background: Lane joins the Cougars from Canby, Minnesota where he attended Canby High School. For the Lancers, he competed in wrestling, football and golf. In wrestling, he was a four-time state qualifier and a two-time state placer. The son of Perry and Catherine Fink, Lane intends to major in Business Administration at USF.
Jacob ‘Jroc’ Solheim
New Brighton, Minn./ Mounds View HS
Background: Jroc joins the Cougars from New Brighton, Minnesota where he attended Mounds View High School. He competed in wrestling, volleyball and football for the Mustangs. Solheim was a three-time Minnesota All-State Wrestler. The son of Samantha Solheim and Kevin Hanson, Jroc intends to major in Business Administration at USF.
Springfield, Minn./ Springfield HS
Background: Ashtin comes to USF from Springfield, Minnesota where he attended Springfield High School. He competed in wrestling, football and baseball for the Tigers. During his time with the Tigers, he was a two-time All Journal athlete. The son of Dana and Tammy Johnson, Ashtin intends to major in Data Science at USF.
Shakopee, Minn. / Home Schooled
Background: Timothy comes to USF from Shakopee, Minnesota where he wrestled for Shakopee High School. During his time with the Sabers, Lacina was a two-time South Suburban All-Conference athlete. He was also a member of two State Championship teams in both 2020 and 2021. The son of Joel and RuthAnn Lacina, Timothy intends to major in Business Administration at USF.
Maple Lake, Minn./ Maple Lake HS
Background: Mitch joins the Cougars from Maple Lake, Minnesota where he attended Maple Lake High School. He competed in wrestling, football, baseball, cross country and golf for the Fighting Irish. In wrestling, Koss was a six-time letter winner, earned All-State Honors and placed in the Minnesota State Wrestling Tournament. The son of Mike and Michelle Koss, Mitch intends to major in both Biology & Chemistry at USF.
