College Recruiting: state runner-up Burkett to University of Oklahoma

Bryce Burkett of Watertown-Mayer has committed to wrestling for the University of Oklahoma following his senior season in 2025.

Burkett is a three-time state placewinner. He was the Class AA 170-pound runner-up in 2023 as a sophomore. Burkett placed third at 160 pounds as a freshman and fifth at 145 pounds as an eighth-grader.

Burkett was a double national finalist in Fargo in 2022, winning the 16U Greco-Roman title at 170 pounds and finishing as runner-up in freestyle.

He is ranked #13 in the nation at 170 pounds by Flowrestling.

Burkett is projected to wrestle at 174 or 184 pounds for the Sooners.
