Mavericks Ranked Sixth in NSIC Preseason Coaches’ Poll

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The Minnesota State wrestling team has been ranked sixth in the 2023-24 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preseason Wrestling Coaches’ Poll.

The Mavericks accumulated 41 points in the poll. St. Cloud State led the poll with 79 points and received a total of seven first-place votes.

Sophomore Kole Marko has been named as MSU’s wrestler to watch this season. At 165-lbs., Marko went 29-7 for the 2022-23 season, and placed fourth at the NCAA DII Super Region V Tournament. In a statement from Head Coach Jim Makovsky, “Kole is a hungry, humble, and smart teammate. He’s a talented, quiet leader that quietly sets the tone for the team.”
