Two-time Minnesota state finalist Logan Swensen signed a National Letter of Intent Wednesday, indicating he will enroll at South Dakota State University next fall and compete for the Jackrabbit wrestling program.
Swensen, who is projected to wrestle at either 133 or 141 pounds at the collegiate level, enters his senior season at Wayzata High School with a 76-5 overall record. As a freshman, he was Class AAA runner-up in the 106-pound weight class, finishing with a 34-1 record. After being sidelined his sophomore season due to injury, Swensen returned to the mat during the 2022-23 campaign and compiled a 42-4 record en route to reaching the championship match in the 126-pound weight class.
At SDSU, Swensen will join his older brother, Cael, on the Jackrabbit roster. He intends to major in exercise science.
South Dakota State, coached by Damion Hahn, competes in the Big 12 Conference for wrestling and sent a school-record eight wrestlers to the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships this past March. The Jackrabbits open the 2023-24 season Saturday at the Bison Open in Fargo, North Dakota.
