MSUM Gears Up For Midwest Classic

MOORHEAD, Minn. — MSU Moorhead wrestling is set to compete in its final tournament of 2023 on Saturday, December 16 as the Dragons head to Indianapolis, Ind., for the Midwest Classic.

MSUM last competed on December 9 in a dual loss to fifth-ranked St. Cloud State on the road. Prior to that, MSUM had three weight class champions at the MSUM-hosted Dragon Open in Jacob Reinardy (165 pounds), Anthony Sykora (174 pounds) and Isaiah Huus (197 pounds). Huus and 184-pounder Will Price lead the Dragons with 13 wins each this season with Huus holding a 13-3 overall record.

Price and Huus have seven wins by pinfall this season which is second on the roster to heavyweight Quade Peterson, who has pinned eight opponents. True freshman 125-pounder Hunter Heim leads the Dragons with three wins by technical fall. Heim and Huus lead the squad with three major decision victories each.

The Midwest Classic is scheduled to feature 52 different teams across the weekend with the meet being hosted by the University of Indianapolis.
