From the SJU Wrestling Room to UFC: Nutrition Degree Has Led Johnnie Grad to Professional Success

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – As a wrestler at Saint John’s University, Glenn Castro always looked for a competitive edge.

It’s what led the 2017 graduate to major in nutrition.

“As a competitor, you’re always in pursuit of self-improvement,” said Castro, who was born in Los Angeles but grew up moving back and forth between Tijuana, Mexico, and Southern California before going on to a successful prep wrestling career at Westlake High School in Westlake Village, Calif. – the school from which he graduated in 2013.

“I took wrestling at the collegiate level very seriously, so it only made sense to take nutrition seriously as well. The two went hand in hand. That’s why I decided to become a nutrition major.
