Rohman Places Second at DII National Championships

Wichita, Kan. – Jaxson Rohman finished second at the 2024 DII National Championships and earned All-American honors at 125 pounds for the second consecutive season after falling to Christian Mejia of McKendree in the national title bout. This is the third trip to the national tournament for Rohman.

Rohman reached the National Championship match with a win over No. 1 James Joplin of Lander in a thrilling sudden victory.

Rohman pushed the pace early, taking shot after shot to force a stall warning in a scoreless first period.

Mejia grabbed control in the second period, earning an escape and a takedown, while Rohman tallied a stall point and escape to trail 4-2 into the third.

The match ended with Mejia riding out the entire third period, earning him a riding point and bringing the match to its final score.

Rohman, a junior, ends the 2023-24 season with a record of 22-4, All-American honors, and a second-place finish at the NCAA DII National Championship tournament.
