Transferring from Wyoming to Minnesota
All-American wrestler Jore Volk has announced his decision to transfer from the University of Wyoming to the University of Minnesota, marking a homecoming for the talented Minnesota native.
Volk made the announcement on Tuesday, bringing his impressive wrestling resume back to his home state.
As a true freshman in 2022, Volk established himself by qualifying for the NCAA Championships. He followed that with an All-American performance in his sophomore season, finishing seventh at 125 pounds.
Entering this past season, Volk started strong by defeating South Dakota State’s Tanner Jordan at the NWCA All-Star Classic. Unfortunately, his momentum was cut short when he suffered an injury in November that sidelined him for the remainder of the season.
Before his collegiate career, Volk was a dominant four-time Minnesota high school state finalist and three-time state champion at Lakeville North. His talent also extended to the international level, where he claimed the 2022 U20 World Championship in freestyle.
