Four Minnesota wrestlers named to CSC Academic All-District team

MINNEAPOLIS — Four University of Minnesota wrestlers have been named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Men’s At-Large Team, the organization announced Tuesday.

Golden Gophers wrestlers Koy Hopke, Max McEnelly, Ethan Riddle, and Andrew Sparks were among the 12 Minnesota student-athletes recognized for their combined performances on the mat and in the classroom.

To qualify for the academic honor, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, hold at least sophomore academic standing, and meet sport-specific athletic participation requirements throughout the season.

Sparks, a veteran presence in the Gopher lineup, headlines the wrestling selections alongside a standout trio of underclassmen in Hopke, McEnelly, and Riddle. Their selections underscore a strong year for the Minnesota wrestling program’s academic standards under the stringent CSC criteria.

The at-large category encompasses a variety of sports, with Minnesota hockey player John Mittelstadt and golfer Jack Crousore joining the four wrestlers on the men’s side.

Representing the women were golfer Isabella McCauley, gymnasts Sarah Moraw and Brooklyn Rowray, hockey player Gracie Graham, and rowers Manon Field and Chloe Petersen.

All four Gopher wrestlers now advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. The first-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America honorees for men’s sports will be announced on July 8.
