Henriksen and Scarset among Augustana’s 2026 Hall of Fame Inductees

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Two wrestlers are among the honorees as Augustana Athletics announced its Hall of Fame Class of 2026. Wrestlers Cody Henriksen and Austin Scarset, who helped anchor the Vikings in the mid-2000s, are included in the 10-member class.

The induction ceremony is scheduled for Oct. 23 at the Elmen Center on the Augustana campus. The inductees will also be honored at halftime the following day when the Vikings host Southwest Minnesota State in football.

“What a tremendous class of Vikings that we get to celebrate in October,” Augustana Vice President for Athletics Josh Morton said. “This collection of former student-athletes not only had exceptional careers at Augustana, but they’ve gone on to distinguish themselves after their college experience.”

Both Henriksen and Scarset achieved the rare feat of becoming three-time All-Americans, leaving an indelible mark on Augustana’s wrestling history.

Cody Henriksen

Cody Henriksen
A three-time All-American at 165 pounds, Henrikson dominated on the mat. Not only was he a dominant force athletically, but he was also a 2006-07 Academic All-NCC, DII All-Academic, CoSIDA Academic All-District and CoSIDA Academic All-American First Team honoree while dominating in the classroom. Henriksen placed sixth as a sophomore at the National Championships, fourth as a junior and third as a senior. He also earned the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship in 2006-07. When it was all said and done, Henriksen finished with a 75-42 overall record and was a volunteer assistant for over 10 years following his career at Augustana.

Austin Scarset

Austin Scarset
A three-time All-American competing at 157 pounds, Scarset placed 7th, 4th and 4th in his last three seasons, respectively. The 2003 NCC Champion ranks 10th all-time with 259 career takedowns and is one of 20 wrestlers in program history with at least 100 wins. He concluded his career with a 100-40 record, competing from 2002-07. The Vikings were National runner-ups in 2004-05 after winning the NCC and Region Championships. Scarset finished with three seasons of more that 20 victories and ended with a 28-10 overall record in duals.

Henriksen and Scarset enter the Hall of Fame alongside eight other Viking greats:

  • Kristin (Brondbo) Klumper (Women’s Cross Country/Track & Field): A six-time All-American and 2011 National Champion.
  • CJ Ham (Football): A 10-year NFL veteran fullback, academic standout, and one of five players in school history with a 1,000-yard rushing season.
  • Dan Jansen (Men’s Basketball): The program’s all-time leading scorer and 2016 National Player of the Year.
  • Maggie (Leland) Sisser (Women’s Golf): A two-time All-American and four-time All-NSIC selection.
  • Ryan Nodland (Football): A prolific four-year starting wide receiver who ranks second in program history with 220 receptions.
  • Jessa (Richards) Boike (Women’s Tennis): The 2015 NSIC Player of the Year who boasted a 95-5 career record in doubles.
  • Casey Schilling (Men’s Basketball): The program’s second all-time leading scorer and defensive anchor of the 2016 National Championship team.
  • Erin (Seidel) Quist (Soccer): The program’s all-time leading goal scorer (46) and the first women’s soccer player inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Augustana will also recognize the 2015–16 National Champion men’s basketball team, which finished 34-2 under coach Tom Billeter.

Additionally, John Schultz ’86 will receive the Lefty Olson Award for lifetime service and achievement, while Kevin ’79 and Linda Nyberg will be presented with the Milt and Clara Harvey Award for their decades of outstanding contributions and support of Augustana athletics.
