MANKATO, Minn. — Minnesota State wrestlers Chase Beckett and Colton Hush have been named to the College Sports Communicators At-Large Academic All-District Team, honoring their standout performances both on the mat and in the classroom during the 2025-26 season.
The duo represented the wrestling program among six total Maverick student-athletes to receive the academic distinction, alongside four members of the men’s hockey team.
To qualify for the Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA while holding sophomore athletic and academic standing. Wrestlers are also required to compete in at least 75% of the team’s scoring events or wrestle in their designated weight class at a conference championship tournament.
Hush, a sophomore from Woodville, Wisconsin, capped a stellar 141-pound campaign with an All-American finish. He compiled a 30-12 record on the year, including eight victories by fall. After bouncing back with a 4-1 record to claim third place at the Super Region V Championships, Hush went on a 6-1 run at the NCAA Championships to secure third place nationally.
Academically, Hush holds a 3.83 GPA as a construction management major. His efforts earned him spots on the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence and as an NWCA Scholar All-American.
Beckett, a junior 133-pounder from Portage, Wisconsin, also punched his ticket to the national tournament this past season. He finished the year with a 29-9 record, powered by six pins and three technical falls. Beckett locked up his spot at the NCAA Championships by executing a 4-1 run to finish second overall at the Super Region V Championships.
A construction management major like Hush, Beckett carries a 3.86 GPA. The honor adds to a resume that already includes two selections to the NCAA All-Academic Team of Excellence and three NWCA Scholar All-American nods.
The wrestlers share the university’s at-large academic honors with hockey players Campbell Cichosz, Evan Murr, Alex Tracy, and Mason Wheeler.
