Robideau and Graber Capture Bronze at U20 Worlds; USA Men’s Freestyle Claims Team Title

BRATISLAVA, Slovakia — Minnesota wrestlers played a key role for Team USA at the 2026 U20 World Championships, highlighted by podium finishes in men’s freestyle and women’s freestyle alongside a solid appearance in Greco-Roman.

The Championships spanned eight days of competition—Greco-Roman competed August 16-19, women’s freestyle August 18-21, and men’s freestyle wrapped up August 20-23.

St. Michael-Albertville graduate and 2026 NCAA champion Landon Robideau capped a strong tournament at 70 kg in men’s freestyle by claiming a bronze medal. Robideau advanced through the opening rounds before dropping a 3-2 match in the semifinals to two-time Senior Asian bronze medalist Sina Khalili of Iran. Robideau led 2-1 late in the bout before Khalili converted a double leg with 43 seconds remaining. Bouncing back in the medal round, Robideau secured a 3-1 decision over Zalkarbek Tabaldiev of Kyrgyzstan. Trailing 1-0 at the break off a shot clock point, Robideau scored two step-out points and earned a shot clock point of his own to secure the victory and seal Team USA’s perfect 10-for-10 medal performance in men’s freestyle.

In women’s freestyle, Northfield High School’s Caley Graber earned a bronze medal at 59 kg. Graber advanced to the semifinals before being edged on criteria in a 2-2 decision against 2024 U17 World silver medalist Sae Noguchi of Japan. Graber took an early lead with a first-period takedown, but Noguchi countered with a takedown in the second period to take the win. Graber regrouped in the repechage and bronze-medal rounds to secure her spot on the podium, helping the U.S. women secure a top-five team finish.

In Greco-Roman competition, Stillwater High School product Cittadino Tuttle represented Team USA at 97 kg after winning the U20 World Team Trials earlier in the summer. Tuttle drew a tough opening matchup against Greece’s Dimitrios Pappas, losing a tight 2-1 decision. When Pappas failed to advance to the finals, Tuttle was eliminated from repechage contention.
