Mavericks Defeat Dragons in NSIC Dual
Moorhead, Minn. – Pins by junior David Demo (125 lbs) and sophomore No. 3 Cody Quinn (165 lbs) help lead the way as No. 10 Minnesota State moved to 8-2 overall and 5-0 in NSIC action as it defeated MSU Moorhead 24-19 Thursday night. Continue reading
MOORHEAD, Minn. — While watching WWF wrestling on T.V., twin brothers Anthony and Angel Vega would move their parent’s couches and practice jumping off and slamming each other in their living room. Once they reached the 8th grade they were excited to show off their moves at practice when they discovered there wasn’t even a ring, and that their favorite moves were not allowed in scholastic wrestling.
Now, Angel has left his home in Calif., and is competing on MSUM’s wrestling team for the first time without his brother. Brothers, who have always competed together, went their separate ways to identify themselves as athletes. Continue reading at msumdragons.com

Gophers wrestling had the top-ranked recruiting class in 2008, but only three members of that class remain.
Minnesota boasted the No. 1 wrestling recruiting class in 2008, according to InterMat.
It featured nine wrestlers that were well-respected in their high school realms.
