Novak and Herrera Earn CSC Academic All-America Honors

Duo become the 10th and 11th Huskies to earn Academic All-America recognition

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – A pair of student-athletes from St. Cloud State Wrestling earned one of the nation’s top academic honors, with junior Nick Novak (New Prague, Minn.) and graduate Anthony Herrera (Stansbury Park, Utah) being named to the 2023-24 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-American ® Men’s At-Large team. Novak earned All-America Second Team recognition, while Herrera earned his way to the Third Team.

The duo become the 10th and 11th Academic All-Americans in program history and the first pair since 2018-19 when Kolten Eischens and Brett Velasquez both earned the honor.

Stuhl, Kim named CSC Academic All-Americans

MINNEAPOLIS — Augsburg University men’s wrestlers Charlie Stuhl (JR, Ellsworth, Wis./Ellsworth HS) and Tyler Kim (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Team in the NCAA Division III Men’s At-Large Category, Stuhl as a first-team honoree for the second year in a row, and Kim for the first time as a second-team recipient, it was announced on Wednesday.

Stuhl is a finance and accounting major with a 3.98 grade-point average, while Kim is a graduate student in leadership (communications undergraduate major) with a 3.83 graduate GPA and 3.67 undergraduate GPA. Both Stuhl and Kim earned CSC Academic All-District honors in June, Stuhl for the second straight year.

Salazar Named CSC Men’s At-Large Academic All-American

‘U’ Trio from Men’s hockey, wrestling student-athletes honored Wednesday

MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota had three student-athletes named to the 2023-24 Academic All-America® men’s at-large teams Wednesday as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). Justen Close and Ryan Chesley represented men’s hockey on the Academic All-America First and Third Team, respectively, while Isaiah Salazar from the Golden Gophers wrestling team was named to the Third Team.

The trio of Golden Gophers tied for the most of any NCAA Division I institution for the men’s at-large teams, which encompasses 10 sports: fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, volleyball, water polo, and wrestling. The latest additions give Minnesota a total of 12 Academic All-Americans for the 2023-24 season.

Rohman Receives CSC Academic All-America Honor

AUSTIN, Texas – Augustana junior wrestler Jaxson Rohman has been honored by the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) on the Division II Academic All-America At-Large Third Team, officials announced Wednesday.

Rohman is currently pursuing a degree in nursing and holds a cumulative GPA of 3.66. He becomes the ninth Augustana wrestler in program history to earn CSC Academic All-America honors.

Dragon Wrestling Golf Outing Scheduled for August 16

MOORHEAD, Minn. — MSU Moorhead wrestling has scheduled its 13th annual golf outing for Friday, August 16, at Frazee Golf Course in Frazee, Minn. The event will be a four-person scramble with a start time of 1 p.m.

The MSU Moorhead Wrestling program invites you to its 13th Annual 2024 Dragon Wrestling Golf Outing. This event is a great opportunity for MSUM coaches and wrestlers to meet participants, say thank you and get former wrestlers together prior to the upcoming wrestling season.
