Reiter getting fresh start with UNI wrestling team

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — University of Northern Iowa wrestling coach Doug Schwab added another weapon to his aresenal over the summer.

Former Don Bosco four-time state champion Bart Reiter has enrolled at UNI, transferring from the University of Minnesota where he followed brother Mack, a four-time state champion, as well, and a three-time All-American for the Golden Gophers. Continue reading at

SCSU Ranked #2 in 2012-13 Division II Preseason Poll

EDMOND, Okla. — The St. Cloud State University wrestling team has been picked as the number two ranked team in the first Division II Wrestling Coaches Association poll of the 2012-13 season.

The Huskies have finished as the runner-up for two consecutive seasons at the NCAA Division II championships and finished the 2011-12 season with a perfect 21-0 dual meet record. SCSU captured the 2012 NCAA Division II Super Region 3 championship and also was the number one team at the NWCA Division II National Duals in 2012.

State champion Thomas to Minnesota

State champion Nate Thomas of Kasson-Mantorville has given a verbal commitment to compete for the University of Minnesota following his upcoming senior season.

Thomas is a two-time state finalist. He won the 103 pound Class AA state championship as a freshman. He placed second at 112 pounds as a sophomore. He sat out most of his junior year because of an injury.

Lehmann brothers to be teammates with NDSU wrestling

WEST FARGO – It was a special state championship wrestling season in 2010 for West Fargo High School. The Packers ended Bismarck’s historic championship dual streak with a team that included standout brothers Tyler and Preston Lehmann.
