Nine Minnesota wrestling greats were honored at the Minnesota Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame banquet held at the Owatonna Holiday Inn on April 22, 2006.
Golden Gopher Wrestling Finishes Second at the Southern Scuffle
The 10th-ranked Golden Gopher wrestling team placed second at the first annual Southern Scuffle in Greensboro, N.C. Eighth-ranked Missouri led the 22-team field with 185 points followed by Minnesota with 169.5. The Tigers had four wrestlers win individual titles, while the Golden Gophers had three champions.
