SCSU Wrestler to Compete at Pan-Am Tournament in Chile

St. Cloud State University sophomore Caleb White will travel to Santiago, Chile to compete at the Pan-American Olympic Wrestling Championships (freestyle and Greco-Roman) on July 12-14. This international tournament is sanctioned by the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles and hosted by the Chilean National Sport Federation of Olympic Wrestling.

Two SMSU wrestlers named CoSIDA Academic All-District

MARSHALL, Minn. – Southwest Minnesota State University junior wrestlers Ethan Hildebrandt and Micah Larson were recently named to the 12-member Capital One Academic All-District VII At-Large team. The announcement was made by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

District VII is made up of member schools of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, the Mid-America Athletic Association and the Great American Conference. The At-Large team consists of student-athletes that compete in golf, lacrosse, tennis, wrestling, swimming, ice hockey and gymnastics.

Mat-side video option approval among wrestling rules changes for 2013-14

INDIANAPOLIS — The Playing Rules Oversight Panel, which met via conference call Monday, approved making the mat-side video review rule an option for use beginning in the 2013-14 season.

There will be no mat-side video review in open tournaments.
