Mat Mayhem comes to Fort Wayne for NWCA Multi-Divisional National Duals

Eighty-six teams from five different collegiate divisions will take to the mats at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana for the NWCA Multi-Divisional National Duals presented by Hibiclens and the United States Marine Corps in honor of Cliff Keen on January 9-10.

College teams from NCAA Division II, Division III, NAIA, NJCAA and the WCWA will all be battling for national dual meet championships.

NWCA Multi-Divisional National Duals brackets released

NWCA Multi-Divisional (DII, DIII, NJCAA, NAIA) National Duals will take place on January 9-10, 2015 at the Fort Wayne Convention Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Minnesota area teams competing include Concordia-Moorhead, Augsburg, St. John’s, Rochester CTC, Augustana, and St. Cloud State.

Iowa starts 2015 still ranked atop USA Today/NWCA Division I Coaches Poll

Manheim, Pennsylvania — Holiday tournaments kept movement minimal in the first USA Today/NWCA Division I Coaches Poll released for 2015. Iowa maintained its spot at No. 1 after weekend wins over Rutgers and Ohio State.

The Hawkeyes (7-0) picked up 11 out of the 12 possible first-place votes, while Minnesota (6-0) remained second. Iowa won the 52nd Midlands Championships, setting a new team-scoring record in the process on Dec. 29-30.

Zillmer climbing wrestling ranks

The 184-pound wrestler for the North Dakota State University Bison is ranked No. 10 by InterMat.com. He is ranked No. 9 by WIN Wrestling Magazine. Amateur Wrestling has him ranked No. 7. TheOpenMat.com likes him at No. 6 and Asics/Flo Rankings landed him in the No. 10 spot.

“Yeah, there are a lot of rankings,” said Zillmer. “I might look at them a little bit at the end of the year to see where I placed, but right now they aren’t that big of a deal. Personally, I don’t look at them, but when I do look at them and I see guys I’ve wrestled on the top I think I should be up there, too.” Continue reading at www.brainerddispatch.com
