WILLMAR, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State wrestling team extended its perfect season record in dual matches to 7-0 with three wins over Ridgewater Community College, Itasca Community College and St. John’s over the weekend.
The Rumble on the Red Wrestling Championships have developed into one of the largest and premiere wrestling events in the country.
The 2012 event takes place December 28-30 at the FARGODOME in Fargo, North Dakota. With 19 mats, 1,400 varsity and junior varsity wrestlers as well as over 600 youth wrestlers, it’s a jam-packed, action-packed must-see event. This year’s Rumble on the Red features a total of 66 high school teams and 56 junior varsity teams from five states – North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and New Mexico. There’s no doubt that a paramount key to coaching and helping athletes to compete and exist to their greatest potential, is assisting them in managing their thoughts. While it can be good to go inside our thinking for awareness and reflection, to stay for too long is trouble. It is especially detrimental when it comes to competition. Thinking is almost like robbing a bank. You want to get in, take what you need quickly, then get out and don’t go back for awhile. If you stay too long in the bank of your mind, it’s dangerous. You will go to prison, a self-constructed prison.
New Orleans, La. —Led by perfect 3-0 individual records from Tom Bouressa, Josten Coleman and Kevin Fynboh, Concordia posted a 2-1 team mark at the highly competitive Gator Duals in New Orleans, La. on Sunday.
The Cobbers posted wins over Iowa colleges Simpson and No. 16-ranked Luther and lost to No.3-ranked Elmhurst (Ill.) in the one-day, three-match tournament. The 2-1 record brings Concordia’s overall season dual-meet mark to 3-3 for the year.
