Paulson and Lindland named to Alan & Gloria Rice Greco-Roman Hall of Champions Class of 2013

WATERLOO, Iowa—Two of the most dynamic wrestlers in the history of Greco-Roman wrestling will be inducted into the Alan & Gloria Rice Greco-Roman Hall of Champions. The National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum will induct Brandon Paulson and Matt Lindland into the Hall of Champions.

An induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at the Kennedy Center on the campus of Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minn. This is the fourth induction class.

For Hunter Marko of Amery, Wis., there is no offseason

AMERY, Wis. — On the east gymnasium wall at Amery High School, a banner lists the school’s state champions in various sports. The latest entry is freshman Hunter Marko, who won a Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division 2 wrestling title at 106 pounds in March.

U.S. and Russian lineups announced for The Rumble On The Rails in Grand Central Terminal in New York City on May 15

Minnesota Storm wrestler Jordan Holm to compete

The lineups for the United States and Russia for “The Rumble On The Rails” at Vanderbilt Hall in Grand Central Terminal in New York City on May 15 have been released.

Three of the world’s top powers, Iran, the United States and Russia will come together in solidarity in this historic wrestling event, which is a showcase competition as part of World Wrestling Month, declared by the international wrestling federation (FILA).

Auggies announce postseason award winners

MINNEAPOLIS — The Augsburg College wrestling team held its annual posteason recognition banquet on Saturday evening at the Christensen Center. Approximately 90 people, including current student-athletes, parents, and various supporters of the program attended the banquet, according to Augsburg head coach Mark Matzek. The banquet, which was organized through the Augsburg College Event Services staff, consisted of a catered meal courtesy of Aviands Dining Service, an awards presenation by the Augsburg coaching staff, and a screening of the 2012-13 highlight video produced by Augsburg assistant coach Tony Valek.
