Eight inducted into the 2013 Bartelma Minnesota Wrestling Hall of Fame
Benson, MN – Eight new members were inducted into the Minnesota Wrestling Coaches Association (MWCA) Dave Bartelma Hall of Fame on April 27th in Benson, Minnesota.
The new inductees honored were: Steve Johnson, Roger Knutson, Kory Mosher, Rodd Olson, Jerry Reker, Dan Snobl, Dan Stifter, and Dave Zuniga. Many Hall of Fame members were in attendance.
Augustana adds six signees for 2013-14
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana head wrestling coach Jason Reitmeier announced today the signing of six student-athletes for the 2013-14 season. Mason Bender, Lance Briard, Kase Jacobs, Bruce Lemon Jr., Lane Lettau and David Potratz have all signed letters of intent to continue their athletic and academic careers at Augustana.
These student-athletes bring Reitmeier’s 2013-14 recruiting class to eight as this spring’s signees join Aero Amo and Zach Schuman who inked during the early signing period on November.
Itasca Community College hires new head coach
Itasca Community College is proud to announce the hiring of Dan Lovell as head coach of the Itasca Vikings. Dan was an accomplished wrestler winning an Iowa state title in high school and earning NCAA Division 2 All-American honors at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. In 2012, he was a bronze medalist at the Veterans World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Gruhlke named Ridgewater wrestling coach
Former BOLD High School wrestling coach Tom Gruhlke has been appointed head wrestling coach at Ridgewater, the college announced Thursday.
He replaces Tom Beyer, a Willmar elementary school teacher who helmed the program the past six winters after 28 years as head coach at the high school. Continue reading at www.wctrib.com

USA, Iran wrestling teams to compete in Los Angeles on May 19
“United 4 Wrestling” to feature top powers in international wrestling
LOS ANGELES – USA Wrestling and Beat the Streets-Los Angeles, Inc. has announced that the United States and Iran will come together in a friendly international wrestling competition Sunday, May 19 at 2 p.m. at Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena. The event will also be a major opportunity for the Keep Olympic Wrestling movement and the 2020 Vision: Wrestling, Keep the Dream Alive campaign. The match is being staged in cooperation with California USA Wrestling.
