Sanders in search of Olympic glory

Zach Sanders’ collegiate wrestling career wrapped up a little more than a month ago with what he called a disappointing third-place finish at the NCAA championships in St. Louis.

This weekend, he will hit the mat in Iowa with a trip to London on the line.

East’s Dierks stays home to develop students and athletes

MANKATO — Some of you may have noticed a brief in Wednesday’s paper announcing Jon Dierks as the new head wrestling coach at Mankato East High School.

When coaches are hired at the high school level I usually don’t comment, preferring to defer to the athletic directors and administrators who selected them to make the right choices.
