Auggies claim 24-13 win over UWSP

MINNEAPOLIS — Claiming wins in six of 10 bouts, the Augsburg College wrestling team scored a 24-13 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in a dual meet on Friday evening at Si Melby Hall.

The Auggies, ranked no. 4 in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III national rankings, collected a pin, technical fall and major decision en route to the victory, finishing the dual-meet portion of the season at 10-3. Wisconsin-Stevens Point, ranked No. 26 nationally, is 7-15 in dual meets this season.

Wyoming 31, North Dakota State 6

No. 11 Wyoming defeats NDSU, 31-6, to win WWC title

FARGO, N.D. – No. 11 Wyoming clinched the Western Wrestling Conference title with a 31-6 win over North Dakota State on Friday, Feb. 17 in front of 418 fans on Senior Night at the Bison Sports Arena. Steven Monk was the lone Bison to claim a victory.

The Bison finished the regular season 6-9 overall and 3-3 in the WWC. Wyoming improved to 10-3 overall and 6-0 in conference action.

Southwest Minnesota State 21 MSU-Moorhead 15

Two pins lead Mustangs to victory over MSU Moorhead on Friday

MOORHEAD, Minn. – Southwest Minnesota State improved to 10-5 on the season, 3-3 in the NSIC with a 21-15 victory over MSU Moorhead (2-10, 0-7 NSIC) on Friday night in Moorhead, Minn. The Mustangs won five of the 10 bouts, getting pins from Justin Reinsma and Jacob Begin.

Augustana Open canceled

Sioux Falls, SD – Augustana Head wrestling coach Jason Reitmeier has announced the Augustana Open scheduled for Sunday has been canceled.

Low registration for the tournament forced the cancellation.

The Vikings begin postseason action Feb. 26 at the Super Region Three Championship in St. Cloud, Minn.

Mat Mayhem finale set for Sunday in Stillwater

A trio of Big Ten teams and a historic power from the Big 12 will highlight Sunday’s finals of the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals in Stillwater, Okla.

Minnesota Takes on Iowa at the NWCA Final Four

The No.3 Minnesota Golden Gophers will be part of the inaugural NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals “Mat Mayhem” Final Four.  Minnesota advanced to this new chapter in college wrestling after winning the Rutgers Regional last weekend, in Piscataway, NJ. The Maroon and Gold defeated Kent State (35-3) and Missouri (26-7) to punch its ticket to the final four.
