Saint Paul Wrestling Club is excited to be able to offer youth wrestling camps this summer! After a successful spring season of high school/middle school freestyle practices, we are looking forward to getting our younger wrestlers back on the mat!
We are doing a slightly different format this year that will help differentiate better to the level of our campers. Both camps will be one daily practice from 10 am to noon. Both camps include a t-shirt with camp fee. If payment of the camp fee is an issue, please reach out. Our goal is to get as many kids as possible in St. Paul interested in wrestling. We can work something out. The camps will be coached by SPWC and CDH coaches with SPWC and CDH current wrestlers assisting.
The first week (Monday, July 12-Thursday, July 15) will be an emphasis on beginners and is open to wrestlers entering grades K through 5. This four-day camp will include lots of games, tumbling action, and basic positioning and techniques. There will be very little live wrestling.
The second week (Monday, July 19-Friday, July 23) will be an emphasis on intermediate development and is open to wrestlers entering grades 3-8. This five-day camp will start with the basics and then develop more advanced techniques from each position. There will be live wrestling every day and possibly a tournament at the end of the week.
A wrestler in the overlapping age and experience range may participate in both camps.
