Rudis, The Clash partner to promote exclusive, event-driven product line

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Rudis, a premier athletic apparel brand that is uniquely marketed to the national wrestling community, has partnered with The Clash to promote an exclusive event driven product line. The line, which will be unveiled at The Clash XIV, will feature a new logo and look to promote the single greatest high school dual meet event in the United States.

Since 2003, The Clash has been the battlefield for some of the most storied dual meets that high school wrestling has seen in the past decade. Many of America’s most storied programs have made the trip to Rochester, including but not limited to St. Paris Graham, St. Edward, Apple Valley, Clovis CA, Oak Park River Forest, Montini Catholic, STMA, Brandon FL, and many more. Two past Clash National Duals champions among five teams added to January 2016 event field

A pair of past event champions were among the five teams added to The Clash XIV National High School Wrestling Duals to be held on January 1st and 2nd of 2016. Five-time tournament champions Apple Valley, Minn. most recently won the tournament in January 2014, and finished third overall in the event this past season. Also joining the field are St. Edward, Ohio, who won the tournament in December 2011.

Both Apple Valley and St. Edward finished this past season ranked in The Fab50 National Team Rankings, the Eagles from Minnesota were ranked No. 17, while the Eagles from Ohio were No. 15 overall. Apple Valley won a tenth consecutive state title in Minnesota Class AAA, which is the big school division, and a 16th championship in the last 17 years. St. Edward won the individual state tournament in Ohio Division I, which is the big-school division, earning the title for the 16th time in the last 18 years. Continue reading at

Two more nationally ranked teams added to Clash XIV field

The Clash XIV organizing committee released another group of five teams that will be in the field for this year’s even to be held on January 1st and 2nd of 2016 at the UCR Fieldhouse in Rochester, Minn. In sum, ten of the 32 teams have now been unveiled, with five of them finishing the 2014-15 season in the InterMat Fab50 national team rankings.

Tuttle, Okla. and Mesa Mountain View, Ariz. are the two most recently released teams to have finished this past season in the Fab50 rankings, at positions No. 23 and No. 28 respectively. They join previously announced Buchanan, Calif. (No. 12 at the end of last year), St. Micahel-Albertville, Minn. (No. 21), and Glenbard North, Ill. (No. 22) in the field.

Tuttle won a seventh consecutive state title this past season in Oklahoma’s 4A classification. They return ten state qualifiers this coming season, nine of whom were state finalists last year. Returning state champions are Rhett Golowenski (106), Tanner Litterell (126), Beau Guffey (138), Dayton Garrett (145), and Tanner Johnson (160); Litterell and Guffey are now two-time state champions. Three Fab 50 teams among first five in The Clash XIV field

The organizing committee for The Clash XIV unveiled the first five teams among the 32 that will be competing in this high school season’s event which will be held on January 1-2, 2016. One newcomer and two past event champions were among the quintet of teams.

The newcomer is Buchanan, Calif. The Bears ended the 2014-15 season ranked No. 12 nationally, and finished fourth in the California state tournament. Among the other highlights of the season was a runner-up finish at the Powerade Christmas Wrestling Tournament, 2.5 points behind Franklin Regional, Pa.

The 2015-16 iteration will be anchored by state champion Durbin Lloren, two other state placers, along with seven additional state qualifiers; among those ten returning state participants, five were freshmen in 2014-15.
