Minnesota sent two teams to compete at the AAU Junior Olympic Games Freestyle Duals. The Minnesota Clash (1st team) went undefeated in 13 duals and placed first out of 22 teams. Team Minnesota (2nd team) placed seventh overall with a record of 9-4. Duals were held on August 3rd-7th at the Virginia Beach Convention Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Team Minnesota went undefeated in 14 duals and placed first out of 22 teams at the AAU Junior Olympic Games freestyle duals. Competition was held July 28-August 2 at the Cobo Center in Detroit, Michigan. Minnesota won the 2012 AAU Junior Olympic Games freestyle duals held in Houston, Texas.
The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), the National United Wrestling Association for Youth (NUWAY), the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) and USA Wrestling have volunteered to become the first organizations to join the newly created Coalition to Keep Wrestling in the Olympics. These four organizations which have significant wrestling memberships are working together on behalf of the sport.
This new coalition will include any and all organizations who are willing to stand up and work together for a common goal, which is to insure that wrestling remains on the program of the Olympic Games. Continue reading at www.themat.com

Tournaments to Raise Funds for College Wrestling Programs
Lake Buena Vista, Fla. – The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Wrestling Committee announced that in conjunction with USA Wrestling, there will be two wrestling tournaments this summer that will serve as fundraisers for college wrestling programs.
Team Minnesota placed fourth out of twenty-two teams at the AAU Junior Olympics freestyle duals. Competition was held August 1-5 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
