Minnesota Head Coach Brandon Eggum sat down with GopherSports.com to discuss this past week’s performance against Air Force and the recruiting class of 2022. The Gophers picked up a 29-6 victory at Maturi Pavilion on Nov. 12, with three different newcomers picking up their first dual victories in the Maroon and Gold.

Minnesota will be back in action this Friday in Brookings, S.D. when they take on the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State University. The Gophers will also take on No. 3 Oklahoma State on Sunday at 5 p.m. in Stillwater, Okla.

Guillotine Grapevine Podcast: Air Force coach Sam Barber on his Minnesota background; Gophers’ Brandon Eggum on progression after dual win

The college season is here and on Episode 34 of The Guillotine Grapevine, we’ll quickly run down Minnesota’s 29-6 win over the Air Force Academy on Sunday in Minneapolis. Eight Gophers earned victories including the first home victories for Hunter Marko, Owen Webster and Rylee Streifel.

We catch up with Sam Barber, head wrestling coach at Air Force, to start things off. Barber spent a lot of time in his coaching career in Minnesota with the J Robinson Camps as well as with Augsburg. Barber speaks highly on his time here in the Land of 10,000 Wrestlers.

We’ll then talk with Gophers head wrestling coach Brandon Eggum about the performance, some sluggishness in the early season and what the lineup will look like in the coming weeks.

University of Minnesota Coaches Clinic set for October 27th

Headlining clinicians include Max Askren, Hayden Zillmer, and John Parenti II

The University of Minnesota wrestling team, led by Brandon Eggum and his staff, will once again host a coaches clinic this fall. The event will take place on Friday, October 27, 2017, at the Bierman Field Athletic Building in Minneapolis, Minn (516 15th Ave SE). The clinic offers professional instruction on the fundamentals and techniques of coaching wrestling and is open to all interested participants and fans of the sport.

MWCA Fall Clinic set for October 28th in Inver Grove Heights

The 2017 Minnesota Wrestling Coaches Association Fall Clinic will feature University of Minnesota Coach Brandon Eggum, NCAA Champion Tony Nelson, and Coach Andy Ourada. The Clinic will take place on Saturday, October 28th, in a new location at Simley High School in Inver Grove Heights.
