NWCA Division III Poll – January 27, 2022

Manheim, PA – On Thursday the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) released their fifth set of regular-season rankings. This is in advance of a busy week of competition highlighted by the top Division III wrestling rivalry, the “Battle of the Burgs” where #8/#4 Augsburg hosts #6/#1 Wartburg. This weekend’s slate also includes one of the top DIII tournaments in the Pete Willson-Wheaton Invitational.

Wartburg remains at the top of the Top 25 Tournament poll while Loras jumps from #2 into the top spot in the Top 30 Dual poll with their 9-0 record. North Central (#4/#2) and Wabash (#5/#3) continue to be the only two schools that find themselves ranked in the top five of both polls.

NWCA Division III Poll – January 14, 2022

Manheim, PA – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) released their fourth set of regular-season rankings following last week’s NWCA/USMC National Multi-Division Dual Championships in Louisville, KY. Wartburg remains at the top of the Top 25 Tournament poll while UW-La Crosse moves to the top of the Top 30 Dual poll following their National Duals Championship. North Central (#4/#2) and Wabash (#5/#3) are the only two schools that find themselves ranked in the top five of both polls.

Concordia finishes 1-2 at NWCA National Duals

National Learning Curve Grows At NWCA National Duals

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Concordia continued their national-level learning curve at the NWCA National Duals meet. The Cobbers went 1-2 with both losses coming to teams ranked in the Top 10 of Division III.

Concordia started the meet by dropping a 22-18, nail-biting decision to No.3-ranked Wabash (Ind.). CC led the Little Giants 18-16 with two individual matches left in the contest, but a pair of close decision wins by Wabash sent the Cobbers to a 4-point loss.

The Cobber rebounded in the opening round on the consolation side of the bracket by rolling over Dubuque 31-6. CC won eight of the final nine individual bouts against the Spartans, including a trio of technical fall wins.

NWCA Division III Poll – December 29, 2021

Manheim, PA – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) released their third set set of individual and tournament team rankings as well as their first set of dual team rankings in advance of next week’s NWCA/USMC National Multi-Division Dual Championships in Louisville, KY.

Wartburg sits atop the Tournament Poll with 55 points while Coe, with a 4-0 record, takes the top spot in the Dual Poll.

The next round of rankings will surely be impacted over the next few weeks as many of the top Division III teams will be in action at the Citrus Invitational and the NWCA National Duals.

Dockter, Zierden Lead Cobbers At Desert Duals

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Juniors Chase Dockter and Gabe Zierden led Concordia to a 2-1 record at the Desert Duals Meet held in the Sunset Ballroom at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas.

The Cobbers opened the day by dropping a hard-fought 27-10 decision to No.2-ranked Warburg, but then rallied to beat Buena Vista 35-3 and finished the day with a 31-11 victory over Alvernia (Pa.).

Concordia has now won at least two matches in three of the past four Desert Duals meets that have participated. The Cobbers are 14-10 in the Desert Duals since they started heading to Las Vegas in 2009.
