Augustana Wrestling Signs Edward Hajas

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Augustana wrestling team announced the signing of Delano, Minnesota, native Edward Hajas Wednesday afternoon. Hajas, the brother of Viking heavyweight national qualifier Steven Hajas, is currently a senior at Delano High School and will enroll as a freshman at Augustana in the fall of 2020.

“We are excited to have Edward join his brother, Steven, and the Augustana wrestling family,” head coach Jason Reitmeier said. “Edward is big, quick and athletic. He has a high ceiling, has always been a three-sport athlete, and once he starts training year-round he is going to make huge strides. Not only is Edward a great athlete, he is also a superstar in the classroom.”

State runner-up Hajas joins 2018 Augustana recruiting class

LinksSIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Augustana wrestling head coach Jason Reitmeier announced the signing of Steven Hajas Jr. to the 2018 recruiting class. The addition of Hajas Jr. brings the class to 13 total signees which includes 12 high school students and one junior college transfer.

Hajas Jr., a Delano, Minnesota native, will wrestle at heavyweight for the Vikings and was a three-year letterwinner at Delano Senior High School. As a senior, he compiled a 33-3 record, with 22 of those victories coming via the pin. Hajas Jr. won the Findley Invite, the North Branch Invite, and the Section 2AA championship. He earned a second place finish at the Minnesota High School State Tournament and earned Academic All-State 2nd team honors.
