Division 1
Minnesota wins EAS/NWCA National Duals with victory over Cornell
The No. 1 University of Minnesota Golden Gopher wrestling team claimed the EAS/NWCA National Dual Championship for the third consecutive year with a 24-15 victory over fourth-ranked Cornell. This is the eighth championship for the Golden Gophers who advance to 12-1 on the season.
The Gophers were able to claim six of the ten bouts, including three majors and a fall, en route to the National Duals championship.
Oregon State 23, North Dakota State 14
Bison Wrestling Drops Rematch to Oregon State at National Duals, 23-14
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 20 North Dakota State wrestling team won three straight weight classes, but was unable to overcome the No. 25 Oregon State Beavers in a 23-14 loss at the EAS/NWCA National Duals at St. John Arena Monday, Feb. 17.
Minnesota 35, North Dakota State 3
No. 1 Minnesota defeated No. 20 North Dakota State University in dominating fashion on Sunday evening to advance to the semifinal of the EAS/NWCA National Duals hosted in Columbus, Ohio. The Gophers, who were able to gather 35 team points, won nine bouts on the evening including two falls and two major decisions.
North Dakota State 28, Chattanooga 10
No. 20 NDSU Downs No. 19 Chattanooga 28-10 at National Duals; Faces Minnesota Sunday Evening
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 20 North Dakota State wrestling team won its opening match of the EAS/NWCA National Duals against No. 19 Chattanooga 28-10 Sunday, Feb. 16, at St. John Arena.
The Bison move to the quarterfinals to take on top-ranked Minnesota at 6 p.m. (CT) Sunday. The Golden Gophers are ranked first in the USA Today/NWCA/AWN Division I Coaches Poll and WIN’s Feb. 3, 2014 Tournament Power Index. Minnesota is looking to win its third-consecutive National Duals title.
No. 20 NDSU Wrestling Kicks Off NWCA National Duals against No. 19 Chattanooga
The No. 20-ranked North Dakota State University wrestling team will travel to Columbus, Ohio, this weekend for the EAS/NWCA Division I National Duals hosted by Ohio State University.
Set to take place at St. John Arena on Sunday, Feb. 16 and Monday, Feb. 17, the event brings 14 programs together to crown a Division I dual meet champion. Ten of the 14 teams are ranked in the Top 25 of the USA Today/NWCA Division I Coaches Poll, with No. 1 Minnesota and No. 4 Cornell leading the pack.
Big Ten Network to air National Duals live
The National Wrestling Coaches Association has announced two live airings of the upcoming EAS Sports Nutrition/NWCA Division I National Duals presented by Hibiclens and the United States Marine Corps in honor of Cliff Keen.
The Big Ten Network will air one semifinal round live at 1 p.m. Eastern on Monday, February 17 and will come back to air the championship finals at 4 p.m. Eastern later the same day.
Draws released for EAS/NWCA Division I National Duals
