MINNEAPOLIS – Two University of Minnesota wrestlers have earned spots on the 2023 Academic All-District Men’s At-Large Team, College Sports Communicators announced Tuesday.
Representing Minnesota Wrestling are Bailee O’Reilly and Isaiah Salazar.
The four-time state champion hails from Greeley, Colorado.
Isaiah Salazar made many trips to the top of the podium in his high school wrestling career, and as he makes his transition into college wrestling, he plans to spend his next four years repeating that same success in the Maroon & Gold.
Salazar recorded an exceptional 143-6 record in his high school career, and that dominance earned him four Colorado state titles, three of which for high school powerhouse Windsor High School. The blue-chip recruit from Greeley, Colorado saw an unblemished record in his last two years of competition, and was also a top-5 nationally ranked wrestler in the 182-pound weight class.
The Gopher wrestling program is pleased to announce the addition of five new commits in the 2024 graduating class. Sam Skillings, Brady Spaeth, Isaiah Salazar, Aaron Nagao, and Ben Lunn are all officially now Maroon and Gold grapplers.
Collectively, the new class represents four different states and has won multiple combined state titles.
