On The Mat: National championship coach and Olympian J Robinson

J Robinson, 1972 Greco-Roman Olympian and iconic Minnesota head wrestling coach, goes “On the Mat” on Wednesday, August 2.

“On the Mat” is a presentation of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum. The show can be heard live on the Internet at 1650thefan.com or locally in Northeast Iowa each Wednesday at 5 p.m. Central on AM 1650, The Fan.

GG08: J Robinson and Ty Eustice talk J Robinson Camps and the Iowa-Minnesota rivalry

Robinson and Eustice talk about the philosophy behind the camp system and the 28-day intensive camp specifically as well as the genesis of the system when it started back when Robinson was an assistant coach at the University of Iowa.

With the annual Iowa-Minnesota dual set for this weekend, Robinson and Eustice also share a few stories about the rivalry and what each recalls from their time on each side of the battle. Eustice was a two-time All-American at Iowa.
