Headlining wrestling clinicians include Jake Short, Gable Steveson, and Hayden Zillmer
The University of Minnesota wrestling team, led by Brandon Eggum and his staff, will once again host a coaches clinic this fall. The event will take place on Friday, October 29th, 2021, at the Bierman Field Athletic Building in Minneapolis, Minn. The clinic offers professional instruction on the fundamentals and techniques of coaching wrestling and is open to all interested participants and fans of the sport.

Jake discusses his youth, high school, and college careers openly, including some of his challenges, and explains why that has helped prepare him to be successful as a coach.
MINNEAPOLIS — Jake Short, a University of Minnesota alumnus who has served as a coach for an elite wrestling school for the past three years, will be the next head coach of the Augsburg University women’s wrestling team, the university has announced.
Since 2018, Short has served as a coach at the Pinnacle School of Wrestling, an elite training program based in the Twin Cities. He has served as both a girls’ and boys’ wrestling coach at Pinnacle, a program co-owned by legendary wrestlers Jared Lawrence and Brandon Paulson.
In January 2021, Short was named as the head coach for the Minnesota/USA Wrestling women’s state team, leading its practices and training sessions for tournaments.
Jake Short ended his season wrestling some of the best matches he has all year. He capped it off by knocking off B.J. Clagon of Rider, an opponent who defeated him at the NCAA Tournament in 2017.

The Minnesota Wrestling Coaches Association today named Jake Short of Simley High School in Inver Grove Heights as Mr. Minnesota, 2013. He is a four-time state champion and a five-time state place-winner, finishing his six-year career with a record of 235 wins and just 20 losses.
