The St. Cloud State University wrestling team (19-0, 8-0 NSIC) placed a total of six athletes on the 2017-18 All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference wrestling team.
This group of honored athletes includes first-team selections #4 Brett Velasquez at 125-pounds, #6 Jarred Oftedahl at 141-pounds, #1 James Pleski at 149-pounds and #4 Vince Dietz at 197-pounds.

Oftedahl was named the NSIC Wrestler of the Week on Monday, Dec. 4, after going 5-0 last week. He is 12-0 on the season at 141 pounds for SCSU and ranked No. 4 nationally in his weight class in Division II.
The No. 1 ranked St. Cloud State (5-0, 1-0 NSIC) hosts the 47th annual Holiday Inn and Suites Huskies Open on Saturday, Dec. 9 in the Halenbeck Hall Fieldhouse at 9 a.m. The Husky Open will feature many of the region’s top NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NJCAA programs and athletes. Tickets for this event may be purchased at the gate on the day of the tournament.
