Mat Mayhem comes to Fort Wayne for NWCA Multi-Divisional National Duals

Eighty-six teams from five different collegiate divisions will take to the mats at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana for the NWCA Multi-Divisional National Duals presented by Hibiclens and the United States Marine Corps in honor of Cliff Keen on January 9-10.

College teams from NCAA Division II, Division III, NAIA, NJCAA and the WCWA will all be battling for national dual meet championships.

NWCA Multi-Divisional National Duals brackets released

NWCA Multi-Divisional (DII, DIII, NJCAA, NAIA) National Duals will take place on January 9-10, 2015 at the Fort Wayne Convention Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Minnesota area teams competing include Concordia-Moorhead, Augsburg, St. John’s, Rochester CTC, Augustana, and St. Cloud State.

Huskies Capture Third Place at 2014 NWCA DII National Duals

Des Moines, Iowa – The #5 St. Cloud State University wrestling team (8-1, 0-0 NSIC) brought home a third place finish for the 2014 NWCA Division II National Duals on Sunday, Jan. 12. The two-day tournament in Des Moines, Iowa featured the nation’s top Division II wrestling programs and the Huskies finished with a big 22-14 win over #3 ranked Central Oklahoma in the bout for third place.

The Huskies advanced in the tournament on Jan. 11 with a 32-6 win over Colorado State Pueblo and a 37-3 win over #7 Kutztown. In the semifinal bout on Jan. 12, SCSU opened the NWCA Division II National Duals with a 23-16 loss to #1 Notre Dame College of Ohio.

A Most Heavenly Weekend In Iowa

Cobbers place 2nd at National Duals

DES MOINES, Iowa – It wasn’t quite heaven but Iowa was awfully good to No.6-ranked Concordia at the prestigious NWCA National Duals Meet. The Cobbers knocked off the No.2-ranked Augsburg in the national semifinals before falling to No.1-ranked Wartburg in the championship match.

Concordia finished their national breakout weekend by going 3-1 and beating teams ranked 11th, 3rd and 2nd in the latest NWCA national poll. The second-place finish is the highest ever by a Cobber team at the prestigious NWCA National Duals Meet. It was only the second time in the history of the meet that Wartburg didn’t face Augsburg in the title bout. CC is now 9-2 on the season.

Augsburg finishes fourth at NWCA D-III National Duals

DES MOINES, Iowa — The No. 2-ranked Augsburg College wrestling team finished in fourth place at the National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III National Duals, presented by Hibiclens and The Marines, on Sunday at the Iowa Events Center. After claiming two victories on Saturday — a 34-8 win over Elmhurst College (Ill.) and a 16-15 win over No. 9-ranked Coe College (Iowa) — the Auggies fell 21-15 in the semifinals to No. 6-ranked Concordia-Moorhead and 25-9 in the third-place match to No. 4-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater on Sunday.
